The most remarkable aspect of Esther’s story is the fact that at the age of 8 her father was killed in a plane crash. One would assume that such a tragic occurrence would have dissuaded her from pursuing aviation; on the contrary, Esther used it to fuel her aspirations of becoming a pilot. She is fluent in five languages. Esther attributes her rise in the ranks to passion, hard work and perseverance.

African celebs: Where are you from and why did you start?

As a result, the GYD annually celebrates her youth in an eventful ceremony tagged “Ghana Youth Day.”

Some of the topics discussed this year, is in response to the outburst of knife and gun crimes amongst the youth, stemming from the sad loss of lives and the tearing apart of families and communities.

Role models and key influencers were on board to engage the youth through mentoring sessions, careers advice and workshops.

The 2019 edition of the rehabilitating event took place in London at the popular Bernie Grant Arts Centre, Town Hall Approach Road on 7th of September 2019.

It ushered in an exciting seminar, titled “Our Youth, Our Society, Our Future,” to further enlighten African youths on the right step towards building an outstanding future.

In addition to the above,  the day was also graced with entertaining cultural displays with some artists performing live.
