Tamela Mann has her life running smoothly these days. She worked with Whitney Houston in the movie Sparkle, has a new album that is coming out, has a new show that will be airing soon, and she has reportedly dropped over 240 pounds!
Mann and her husband David knew that it was time for them to get into shape so they made some huge changes to their lifestyles and it has paid off in a big way for the both of them.
One of the biggest reasons that Mann decided that it was time to get rid of the weight was because of her health.
She was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes in 2013. Her husband says that people come up to them all the time now and comment on how good they both look.
They were much bigger when they had begun filming the things that they have acted in so people are stunned when they see them in person and see what a drastic change both have gone through.
One of the biggest changes for the pair was the way they ate. Mann said that they would usually sit down to a dinner that had at least two or three starches all in one meal.
They still have starches such as potatoes, but they limit it to one per meal. They have both also reduced their sugar intake significantly.
Mann said her five children put up a fight when they were living at home and they went through and found that all of the junk food had been thrown away.
They also cut soda from their lives completely. Mann says she will steal a sip or two of someone else’s every now and then but that is all she will allow herself to have.
