The 2021 Interswitch One Africa Music Fest

This October will be spectacular in New York City as one of the biggest African music concerts, The Interswitch One Africa Music Fest,” returns with mind-blowing performances from superstars from the Africa and abroad.

The star-studded afro music festival is slated for October 01 to bring together African talents locally and internationally to promote the various afro music genres and help sustain African music worldwide in the world of business, entertainment, and lifestyle. Previous seasons of the show showcased Africa’s amazing music and art talents before thousands of audiences, specifically Africans in the diaspora, to appreciate their roots.

The past shows saw the likes of Burna Boy, Wizkid, Davido, Stonebwoy, Sarkodie, Flavour, Diamond Platnumz, Banky W, Tekno, P-Square, Efya, Vanessa Mdee, Stef London, Awilo, Reekado Banks, among several international artists from the African descent mounted the stage. They shook New York City with their electrifying performances, as well as engaging their fans in the diaspora.

This year’s One Africa Music Fest edition will be held at the Coney Island Amphitheatre in Brooklyn on Friday. Talented artists gracing the august occasion with live performances include Olamide, Tiwa Savage, Sho Madjozi, Nasty C, Harmonize, Zuchu, Diamond Platnumz, Kwaw Kese, Gyakie, Buckyraw, Kobazzie, Cyrus Deshield, Jslught, Craloboi, Miss Shanel, Jah Prayzah and a lot more.

They are all African entertainers from Nigeria, Ghana, South Africa, Liberia, Rwanda, Tanzania, and other parts of Africa.

The music festival will also celebrate the Independence Day of Nigeria, which falls on October 01, with amazing performances from Nigerian stars like Rema, Oxlade, and Berla Shmurda. It’s going to be full of fun and relieving for music lovers looking at the power-packed performance from the long list of African entertainers who are already captured and those yet to be announced on the event’s social media platform.

Nonetheless, the concert will also organize free vaccination for attendees and finally climaxed with an after-party performance with the artists from 11 pm to 4 am in Quantum, Brooklyn, NY. Tickets are available for purchase at Eventbrite and Ticketmaster.

One Africa Music Fest is an African music concert organized in the US, UK and UAE to help Africans display their musical talents. The show has had historic performances in its four seasons, with the last season held in London in 2019 before the social restrictions caused by the pandemic.

The highly anticipated Interswitch One Africa Music Festival in London festival was held at take place at The SSE Arena, Wembley, London.

The 2019 edition of the popular music festival tagged One Africa Music Fest shook London on the 24th of August  with quality performances by top African Afrobeat royalties.

Burna Boy sparked the stage with his singles, Jeun Soke, Dangote, and Zanku. Teni’s energetic performance was great!

Similarly, Jean Wyclef is clearly unmatched. He made the event worthwhile with many of his old songs; Radio Night.

Nigerian Hip Hop artist, 2Baba ignited the night with his quality performance by singing his hit songs Gaga Shuffle, Amaka and some of his evergreen songs, If Love is a Crime, African Queen and Ihe Neme.

Fans were convincingly excited with the performances of the artists in attendance. Many thrilled fans are committed to travel to Dubai to witness yet another edition of the 2019

Following 2 Sold Out shows at New York’s Barclays Centre (19,000 capacity) and Houston’s Toyota Center (18,000 capacity), the World’s Biggest Afrobeats Festival will now debut in the UK at SSE Wembley Arena

One Africa Music Fest USA saw huge performances by Wizkid, Dbanj, Jidenna, Flavour and Seun Kuti, and  was  attended  by  US  celebrities Swizz  Beatz, DJ Ebro, Lil  Mama,Angela  Simmons and more. The event was also streamed live on Tidal and supported by Hot 97 radio.

The London extravaganza on 13th May, with the weight of Global Radio’s Capital Xtra, will be the first Afrobeats event of this  magnitude  in Europe. CONFIRMED LINE-UP:

Davido: 

Undoubtedly one of the biggest Afrobeats artists to come out of Nigeria, singer Davido accredits much of his success to the support he has received in London calling it his “second home”. From ‘Dami Duro’ and ‘Aye’, to ‘Skelewu’ and ‘Gobe’, his list of anthems speak for his thriving global career. Davido is currently signed to Sony and has previously toured the UK as well as selling out concerts all around the world.

P-Square:

Sensational R&B duo, Peter and Paul Okoye have been championing African music across the globe for many years. Renowned for their energetic stage performances, breathtaking choreography and simply good music, London awaits the timeless hits from the twin brothers who have worked with the likes of Akon, T.I and Rick Ross. Their last song ‘Nobody Ugly’ hit 1 millions views with a week on Youtube

Tiwa Savage:

Newly signed to Jay Z’ s Roc Nation label, ‘Africa’ s Beyoncé’ returns to the One Africa Music Fest stage. Not a stranger to her doting UK fan base, this will be a long-awaited return to London. The singer rose to stardom following her X Factor UK stint which saw her make it to the Judges Houses back in 2006. 

Techno:

Popularly referred to as ‘The Golden Boy of African Music’, became a fan favourite following the release of his first single ‘Holiday’ featuring Davido back in 2013. He later went on to release hit singles ‘ Dance’ , ‘ Duro’ , ‘ Wash’  as well as ‘ Pana’  which dominated the airwaves internationally last year, propelling his career to new heights. Tekno signed to Sony earlier this year

Cassper Nyovest:

Ranked number one on MTV Base’ s Hottest Emcees list 2016 (South Africa), rapper Cassper Nyovest will be performing in the UK for the first time on the One Africa Music Fest stage. Having won numerous awards and sold out concerts in S.A, a freestyle on Tim Westwood Crib sessions in 2015 introduced him to a wider UK audience.

Sofie is a Ghanaian singer-songwriter with a soulful, R&B and Jazz-driven sound. She plays acoustic and electric guitar. Sofie believes that music is a driver of social progress; her songs like ‘Broken World’ tackle issues like racism, police brutality and inequality.

It’s important to Sofie that she uses her platform to raise awareness about things that matter in the world and inspire positive change. Sofie graduated from the Berklee College of Music in May 2021. During her time at Berklee, Sofie released her second EP ‘’Light Waves’’.
