Happy Birthday Roselyn Njissah…

Roselyn Ngissah is a respected Ghanaian actress who has carved a niche for herself on both local and foreign sectors as her name rings like a bell and her face clamored for by fans across the world. She has paid her dues as far as the African movie industry is concerned. She has grown from strength to strength with the roles she executes with flair.

Having taken up acting, she landed her first role in ‘Sicily’ in the year 2004, produced by Correlle pictures, after going for series of auditions since the year 2001. After her first role and she exhibiting her roles with extreme prowess, the platform was placed for her to show the world her ability. Roles have since beckoned with TV series – ‘Tentacles’ in 2003, ‘I stand accused’ in 2005, ‘Broadway’ in 2005, ‘Omanbapa’ in 2009, among others.

 

Then her film career began in earnest, when she landed supporting roles in ‘Princess Tyra” (2007) produced by Venus films, ‘Power of the gods’ produced by Gupado and Marhills films and ‘Sin of the soul’ (2009) by Heroes productions.

Wide acknowledgment started rolling in after she had fantastically performed well in ‘4Play’ in 2010, a role which was her first leading role in a major film. That also gave her the accolade as 2010 Best actress at the Ghana Movie Awards alongside Jackie Appiah, Juliet Ibrahim and Yvonne Okoro. It didn’t end there as another great performance in the movie ‘Somewhere in Africa’ gave her another international award amidst the numerous nominations that followed.

Notably, she has played active roles in ‘The Miser (series)’, ‘Adam Apple’, ‘The Pledge’, ‘Shackles’ (yet to be out), and ‘The C.E.O’, among others. Her zeal has seen her won accolades as well as been nominated in various categories namely: Nominee as Best Supporting at the Ghana Movie Awards in 2011, NaFCA nominee, Los Angeles in 2011, Best Supporting Actress in 2011 PAMSA A wards in Nigeria, among others.
She is undoubtedly a very good actress with a lot of potentials which we have seen on bigger screens via movies which have claimed topnotch awards.
