The musically eclectic environment that France offers through its mixes of cultures, also gave her the opportunity to enjoy a wide range of musical genres such as:

Dancehall, Rai, Variete Francaise, Dombolo, Pop, RnB, Electro and Hip hop.

It is not before spending some time in New York as an adult that she finally discovered Afrohouse and that completely changed her musical landscape.

Having started DJing recently in 2017, she has managed to grace the same event as Oscar P (DJ and founder of Open Bar Music) at the Second Edition of House Con Leche in New York City.

Patricia uses Djing as a way of expressing the multiple cultural dimensions that reside inside of her through the blending of Western House and Afro sounds.

She has the feeling and conviction that it is a great way to start a cultural conversation on the dance floor. A conversation that allows us to embrace our differences through the love and power of music.

As he struggles to fit in at school, one unlikely friendship with a curious classmate is going to change everything. You need to watch this and its free to watch

ASHYA-KING- POLICEThe search for a five-year-old boy with a brain tumour, missing since being taken out of hospital by his parents against medical advice, is focusing on his family’s apartment in Spain.

Police cars have been seen outside a property in Marbella as efforts continue to locate Ashya King.

Ashya and his family were last seen on a ferry to France after being taken from Southampton General Hospital.

Hampshire Police described the need to find him as “desperate”.

It is feared the battery on the feeding system he uses has run out.

Hampshire Police earlier said Ashya’s family had “strong links to the Marbella area” and believe they may be travelling there

Hampshire Assistant Chief Constable Chris Shead said: “It is really important that we find him and ensure he receives medical attention at the earliest opportunity.”

He also cautioned it was possible the family could be somewhere other than Spain and asked people across the continent to remain vigilant.

Mr Shead said it was unclear whether Ashya’s parents had spare batteries, or knew how to recharge them.

“Without properly administered food Ashya’s situation is very serious,” he said.

A spokesman for Spain’s national police said: “We have received an alert about the family and are actively trying to locate them.” BBCNEWS

Monument to African Renaissance dakar senegal africa 5 Monument to African Renaissance dakar senegal africa 6 Monument to African Renaissance dakar senegal africa 7 Monument to African Renaissance dakar senegal africa 14 Monument to African Renaissance dakar senegal africa Monument to African Renaissance MonumentAt one hundred and fifty meters in height the Monument to African Renaissance dominates the skyline of the Senegalese capital of Dakar. Its scale is quite breath-taking. Taller than New York’s Statue of Liberty and Rio de Janeiro’s  Renaissance Monument or Le Monument de la Renaissance Africaine is Africa’s tallest statue.

A strong man with Romanesque muscles and a broad chest, lifts a child into the air with his impossibly robust left arm. With his right, he supports a scantily clad woman who gazes at him admiringly. Barely clothed, her ample chest is thrust forward seductively

The statue overlooks the Atlantic Ocean from atop one of two twin hills and was completed in 2010 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the country’s independence from France.  The symbolism isn’t difficult to grasp: the statue seems to represent the basic building block of African society, the family.

Though subject to criticism for its large cost and foreign designers, the statue remains a popular destination for tourists and locals alike.

Thinking  of visiting Africa? Why not go to Senegal.

Vincent Enyeama1Vincent EnyeamaVincent Enyeama became the first Nigerian, the first goalkeeper and first player from English speaking Africa to be named France’s Ligue 1 African player of the season on Monday.
The 31-year-old, who is set to feature at the World Cup finals for his country in June, has played all 37 championship games for his club Lille this season conceding just 25 goals. At one point this season — which comes to an end next weekend — he went 1,062 minutes without conceding a goal in the championship. He won the Marc-Vivien Foe award — named after the Cameroon international midfielder who died aged 28 of a heart attack during the 2003 Confederations Cup semi-final — ahead of Ivory Coast defender Serge Aurier, who plays for Toulouse, and Lyon’s Cameroon defender Henri Bedimo. Enyeama, who captained Nigeria to Africa Cup of Nations success last year, succeeds Borussia Dortmund’s Gabonese international striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who won it after a successful season with St Etienne last season. The award is voted on by 60 journalists from all branches of media and is co-sponsored by Radio France Internationale (RFI) and France24 TV news channel.
Congratulations Vincent!
