Exciting sports games caused the emergence of funny rituals among fans, giving them a stronger hope that their favorite teams will win.
By the same logic, however, many fans believe that some people or places always bring bad luck to their teams.
The greatest example is the rapper Drake who is believed to bring bad luck to the teams he supports. There were many times that the favorite teams expected to win were defeated upon Drake’s support messages.
This curse was prevalent in football. Every time the team players of Arsenal, Manchester and Paris Saint-Germain took pictures with the rapper, the teams were doomed.
During Champions League, the players of Manchester City appeared alongside Drake during his concert at Manchester. Shortly after that, they lost to Tottenham Hotspur.
During the same gig, Arsenal’s striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was also present. This was believed to be the reason behind the defeat of Arsenal by Everton.
Jadon Sancho, who was praised for his outstanding performance in Dortmund – came across Drake and took a picture with him.
During the match against Bayern Munich played three weeks after the incident, Dortmund received a massive defeat of 5-0. These are only some examples amongst tens of incidents.
The curse has become so legitimized that the team captains have banned their players from going anywhere near Drake.
Football was not the only field where the curse was effective. Drake appeared with an Irish flag over his shoulder to express his support for the Irish MMA fighter Conor McGregor, who lost to Khabib Nurmagomedov in his next match.
In a similar fashion, the British Boxer Anthony Joshua lost the fight for the heavyweight title to Andy Ruiz JR after posting a picture with Drake in March.

The Canadian NBA team, the Toronto Raptors, perhaps suffered the most as the Canadian rapper never gave up speaking out about his support.
In 2013, Drake became an ambassador for the team. The following six years witnessed a noticeable decline in the team.
Interestingly, the team seems to begin to overcome the curse. They won 92-90 in the NBA play-offs against Philadelphia 76ers, although Drake was actually using his curse against the 76ers by posting a photo wearing their t-shirt.
“Thanks to Drake’s clever plan”, the Toronto Raptors became the first Canadian team to win the NBA.
The successful rapper is currently planning to release two songs to celebrate the victory of his favorite basketball team. The songs will be called Omerta, and Money in The Grave.
Despite the success of the Toronto Raptors, the football teams in the UK and Europe are still dealing with the curse because of Drake’s 2019 tour.
The football clubs literally declared a state of emergency against Drake’s arrival.
Are these just coincidences or the Drake curse is real 🤔?
