KNUST Appoints First Female VC

Congratulations are in order! Today, June 25, 2020, the Kwame Nkrumah university of science and technology (KNUSt), Ghana has selected its first ever female Vice Chancellor.

Professor Rita Akosua Dickson who is now selected as the new vice chancellor taking effect from August 01, 2020 and ending in July 2024 was the Pro- Vice Chancellor.

At the University’s 258th Special Meeting on Thursday, June 25, the Council of the University assigned the first outgoing female Pro-VC, Prof Dickson to the noble position of a Vice Chancellor.

 

 

The office of the KNUST public relations released a statement announcing to the entire public including, staff members and students of the University the new VC of the highly recognised Technological Institution in Ghana.

Professor (Mrs) Dickson who is yet to replace professor Obiri Danso holds a first degree in Bachelor of Pharmacy in 1994 and continued five-year graduate studies awarding her the certificate of MPharm in Pharmacognosy all at the Kwame Nkrumah university of science and technology.

In addition to the above, Professor Rita Dickson is one of the most respected intellectuals  who has contributed to the Ghanaian education system in so many ways.

A year after her graduation, she worked as a lecturer in the Department of Pharmacognosy, Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences at KNUST……
